The first Dacia electric car will be launched on the market in 2021-2022 and will be a small city car, according to an official announcement from the Renault Group. The Dacia electric model will most likely be based on the electric version of Renault Twingo, called Twingo Z.E., scheduled for launch in 2020 (a new generation). Most likely this Dacia Z.E. model will be presented at the end of 2021, and the actual marketing will start in 2022, as showed by the announcement of the French car group, according to Hotnews.ro.
Technical specifications for Electric Dacia are not yet officially available. We can expect an 80 hp electric engine, powered by a lithium-ion battery with a net capacity of 35 kWh and connectivity to charging stations via Type 2 (up to 22 kW) and CCS (up to 50 kW) ports. As the Volkswagen Group shows, small city cars can have a battery of about 35 kWh, at a price of around 20,000 Euro (Skoda CITIGOe iV, Volkswagen e-up!, SEAT Mii EV).
