Iulian Iancu is the PSD’s proposal for the position of member in the ANRE Regulatory Committee, instead of Alexandru Stănescu, according to Antena 3.
The deadline for submitting applications for the place vacated by Alexandru Stanescu, Paul Stanescu’s brother, has expired on Tuesday.
A few months ago, the president of PSD, Marcel Ciolacu, announced publicly that he requested the verification by the intelligence services of Iulian Iancu, in order to see if there are problems that can affect the national security. Georgian Pop, his former party colleague and former head of the SRI Control Commission, claimed in 2008, according to Wikileaks, that Iulian Iancu was “bought by Gazprom”, but the claim was never publicly proven.
“I call for informed and responsible communication, especially from those who have become accustomed to placing me in the sphere of influence of a well-known Russian company. It’s the biggest lie about my name, in a career of already over 35 years. In fact, the verification of my professional file during this period showed that there is no trace of truth in these allegations,” said Iulian Iancu, according to Financialintelligence.ro
The opinion of the services in the case of Iulian Iancu was positive, according to Antena 3.
