In March, the Labor Inspection conducts an action to verify how minimum requirements for improving the safety and health protection of employees working in liquefied petroleum gas cylinder businesses are being met.
According to a press release, liquefied petroleum gas is classified as dangerous according to Regulation 1272/2008 (CLP), being a highly flammable pressurized gas that can form explosive mixtures with the air, according to Agerpres.
The Labor Inspectorate will verify that employers comply with the obligation to assess the specific risks of occupational injury and illness, taking into account the risks of explosive atmospheres, namely the likelihood of the occurrence and persistence of potentially explosive atmospheres, the likelihood of the presence and activation of sources of ignition and the onset of fire, machinery, substances used, processes and possible interactions.
Control actions, involving all territorial labor inspectorates, will be carried out in all types of enterprises (small, medium and large, state-owned, private and mixed capital), which have liquefied petroleum gas filling stations.
