R.Power, the largest Polish developer of photovoltaic projects, which currently operates a portfolio of projects with a power of over 5 GWp, has signed a cooperation agreement with one of the main Romanian developers of solar, wind farms and hydroelectric projects, according to focus-energetic.ro.
The companies want to develop a portfolio of photovoltaic projects with a total capacity of up to 100 MWp. In July, the Polish company signed a contract with BNP Paribas Bank Polska and Santander Bank Polska worth PLN 242 million (52.6 million euros) to finance a portfolio of solar power plants.
The financing will be allocated to the construction of 7 solar power plants with a total capacity of 91 MWp, which won the RES tenders last year in Poland, writes Profit.ro.
The company then showed that one of its priorities is Romania. Cooperation between companies includes the development of solar farm projects located throughout the country. – Romania is an emerging market with great potential – says Maciej Klosinski, Regional Business Development Manager, responsible for the Romanian market. And he adds that the signed contract represents only the beginning of the company’s activity on the local market.
“We are in talks with other developers in the photovoltaic sector and we are open to new business opportunities. We want to take advantage of the increasingly friendly legislative environment and support the authorities in achieving the goals of balanced development,” he added.
