Rompetrol Downstream, together with Vodafone Romania, introduced in the filling stations it operates the payment and money transfer service M-Pesa, according to the oil company. M-Pesa users can now withdraw cash, make deposits or feed their Fill & Go card from Rompetrol directly from their mobile phone at no extra cost.

In 2015, 118 filling stations have gone through rebranding. Rompetrol combines quality products and high technology, values that are found in the premium fuel sold at service stations”, said Mihaela Ungar, Chief Officer at CEO Block, KMG International.
“M-Pesa users can use the payment and money transfer service in all the Rompetrol filling stations, with immediate and non-stop access to the funds. The strategic partnership with Rompetrol provides the customers with an increased number of modern locations, including transit zones where users expect to find a variety of services. Promotional, the customers that will make cash withdrawals from Rompetrol will receive a bonus consisting in national and international minutes and data traffic in the Vodafone network”, said Ștefan Valentin, Business Development Director, Vodafone Romania.
In addition to transferring money, M-Pesa allows payments directly from the mobile phone for the utility bills. The M-Pesa payment and money transfer service package complements the already existing facilities in the Rompetrol – Efix range, the Fill & Go pump payment service and the Hei restaurant services, informs Rompetrol.
