The Minister of Energy, Virgil Popescu, must come up, by September 1, with a normative act that will regulate the period in which energy is already sold, as well as the following period, said, on Monday, the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Marcel Ciolacu.
He announced that he will request the adoption of this normative act in the governing coalition.
“First of all, we are all waiting for the solution from this interministerial meeting. From my point of view, that of the PSD, by September 1 we must have a normative act approved by the Government for the next period. There is an approach for these months in that the energy is already sold and we saw that this liberalization, let’s not call it stupid, chaotic, as the BNR says, actually led to the reinvention of the smart guys in energy,” stated Ciolacu, according to Agerpres.
In the opinion of the PSD leader, there is an overtaxation of producers, but “someone slipped into the ordinance to take into account the average price”.
“We have an overtaxation of producers, but even there someone sneaked into the ordinance to take the average price, so that they fell under 450…. And I would really like the prime minister to find out who slipped this average price in the past ordinance, let us also know who does the underground games in Romania in energy. I know that the energy policies are made by the Ministry of Energy. It is possible that it is an oversight of the minister, but the responsibility is with the Ministry of Energy, because they are the promoters of the ordinance of the legislative act, they come with the emergency ordinance. In my opinion, Minister Virgil Popescu has a responsibility to come up with a normative act by September 1 that will regulate the period in which the energy is already sold and the following period, where the energy is not sold and I think it is appropriate to come with a perspective until the year 2025,” said Marcel Ciolacu.
According to him, at least in the domestic area there must be a regulation of the energy price.
At the same time, in the opinion of the PSD leader, “the great right-wing government, with the prime ministers, did something stupid that brought us to this situation”.
“The great liberalization in energy actually created smart guys again in energy and speculation in the market. Moreover, in two years they made debts to the state budget of more than 200 billion lei. It is unacceptable. (…) In this moment, in this coalition we saw that we exceeded more than 3% with the money returned to the economy, without making loans, on the contrary, trying to pay off the loans made and pay the interest made by the great right-wing government led by Mr. Cîțu and Mr. Orban, otherwise great specialists on TV and on Facebook and Instagram. Wouldn’t they first want to explain to us how they did with the energy, how they did with the loans and then offer their opinion?,” claimed Ciolacu.
