Marco Pannunzio is the new managing director of Total România

Marco Pannunzio is the new managing director of Total Romania SA, starting with December 2016, replacing Franck Haettel, who will take over the global position of Security Coordinator for the Marketing & Service branch of Total at the Paris headquarters

Pannunzio joined the Total Group in 1985 and has been with the Group for a period of more than thirty-one years. He held various key positions in the Total Group both in Italy and Europe as follows: general manager of the Central Europe Hub managing the marketing activities and its affiliates of Total in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, specialties director of TotalERG SPA in Italy, president & CEO of Totalgaz SPA and Bitumec SRL and vice-president of Assogasliquidigpl, commercial sales director of Total Italy SPA and retail manager of Total UK.

„I am approaching this new experience of my life – living in Romania -, inspired by the new motivations it entails. I have learnt from my previous expatriations that living in a different country, speaking a different language and breathing different culture is such a rich experience, which cannot compare to anything else,” says Pannunzio (53), who is married and has a child.

”As a Managing Director of Total Romania, I’ll focus, for the beginning, on taking the progress reached by my predecessors even further. It will be a challenge, because Total Romania has performed well in the last years, the company had a solid ground in Romania, reaching a leading position in lubricant sales in Romania and well developing the activity of bitumen, thanks to the support of my team, I am sure we can reach our new targets of development. Romania’s positive economic performance and the ambition of the Total Group to develop our position in the country make me confident in driving our company to further increase our market shares and positions, our aim is to be recognised in Romania as a reference and reliable partner in the industry and by our customers”, Pannunzio said.

Total Romania is part of the Europe Division of Total Group. In 2015, the turnover reached 267 million RON; at this moment there are 120 employees, it has a leading position in the lubricant market – selling the Total, ELF and LUBRIFIN products, all brands of Total – with a market share of about 12% in Romania. It also exports a substantial part of its production in Brasov plant to neighbouring countries, and invested in 2014 in the storage and distribution of bituminous product to the road construction segment.

Total Romania was founded in 2005 as a joint venture between Total (France) and LUSTIC (Romania), the initial name of the company being Total LUBRIFIN. Today, the company with the Head offices in Cristian, Braşov holds a blending plant in Cristian and a bitumen depot in Ozun, Covasna, and covers a complex area of activities with commercial presence on the whole territory of Romania, regional base of production of lubricants and greases as per Total Group Quality standards: distribution and sales of lubricants and special fluids, import, storage, distribution and sales of bitumen and tests and physicochemical analysis for lubricants, special fluids and greases.
