OMV Petrom has concluded an agreement on the transfer of licenses for nine oil and gas onshore oil fields in Romania to Mazarine Energy Romania S.R.L., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mazarine Energy BV, a OMV Petrom report said.

The nine deposits are located in the Moineşti Zemeş area and have a cumulative crude oil and gas production of about 1,000 boe / day. The deposits are part of the second outsourced deposit package within the Upstream optimization program. The deposits represent less than 1% of the current production of OMV Petrom. The first round of portfolio optimization, which included 19 deposits, was completed in August 2017 with the transfer of licenses to Mazarine Energy.

Taking over the deposits by Mazarine Energy creates prerequisites for extending the life of the deposits and maintaining production activities. The transfer agreement to Mazarine Energy includes wells and transport infrastructure as well as about 100 employees.

The transfer of licenses for the nine onshore oil and gas fields is subject to the approval of the competent authorities.
