An informative map with charging points for electric cars is available starting Monday on the website of the Ministry of Energy, minister Sebastian Burduja announced.

“On the current map, the Ministry of Energy addressed the private operators, in partnership with the National Association of Electric Mobility, addressed the Association of Municipalities in Romania, addressed the Union of County Councils in Romania and the Association of Municipalities in Romania precisely in an attempt to coagulate all this information and to present it in an accessible format for Romania. At the moment, we are discussing an informative map also available on the website of the Ministry of Energy, but the vision is more ambitious than that and we put ourselves in the shoes of the Romanian user, who runs a electric car and wants to get from point A to point B. It’s unpleasant to run out of power in such a situation and then we want to facilitate first of all a single interface, a single point of entry, a single gate for all users, so so that there are no situations in which they download 6, 8, 10 different applications in their mobile phone. It is also very important that during the development of this project we supplement with a system based on IoT sensors – the Internet of Things, through which I, as a user, to see in real time if the station where I propose to arrive or where I need to arrive is free, because beyond it I might not have the energy to go any further,” said Burduja, according to Agerpres.

According to the minister, this approach is part of the European trend in which Europe has set out to reach the number of 75 million registered electric cars by 2030, and the ambition to have fast charging stations every 60 kilometers on the main roads.

“In Romania, 42,000 electric cars were in circulation and only last year 16,800 were registered, an increase of 35% compared to 2022. We invite all Romanians, all those who are part of this ecosystem, to pass on the points of upload to [email protected] in order to actually have this complete map in the shortest time. It is important to have the Electric Up 1 program reflected here. I want to thank the operators who responded very quickly to our requests and I also tell you what message did we give them today. I told them that, from our perspective, what matters first and foremost is the interest of the citizen and this is a twofold one. On the one hand, to have a single application, therefore a single interface, to have a easier life through this and, on the other hand, to have this visibility in real time, where he can charge his car when he needs it,” the official emphasized.
