The National University of Science and Technology Politehnica Bucharest (UNSTPB) signed a new collaboration memorandum with Hidroelectrica, a significant step towards strengthening strategic partnerships in the energy sector and supporting innovation in the field of green energy.
The memorandum was signed by Karoly Borbely, CEO of Hidroelectrica and Mihnea Costoiu, rector of the University. The main purpose of the partnership is to create a cooperation framework for the development of joint projects in the field of renewable energy, innovative technologies and energy sustainability.
“Hidroelectrica is dedicated to innovation and sustainability. Collaboration with the National University of Science and Technology Politehnica Bucharest gives us the opportunity to support research and train new generations of specialists. Romania’s energy future depends on the involvement of young people and the adoption of the latest technologies,” said Karoly Borbely, CEO of Hidroelectrica.
Rector Mihnea Costoiu also highlighted the essential role of partnerships between universities and leading companies in the technical and energy field: “Our university is committed to contributing to the training of a new generation of engineers and specialists, who will play an essential role in the development energy sector in Romania. Collaboration with a leader like Hidroelectrica brings our students real opportunities to apply what they learn in concrete and innovative projects”.
One of the priority objectives of the partnership is to facilitate students’ access to the real work environment in the energy sector. Students will have the opportunity to get involved in applied research projects and participate in internships within Hidroelectrica. The memorandum also provides for mentorship programs, experience exchanges and technical workshops, supported by industry experts, development in the field of hydropower and energy engineering, with a focus on optimizing the efficiency and sustainability of hydropower systems.
Hidroelectrica thus reaffirms its commitment to education and sustainability, wishing to contribute to the training of future generations of engineers and specialists in the field of green energy.
