The correct sizing of the equipment is the “key to success” for a micro-cogeneration installation. In the last two years, due to the rising cost of energy, the savings obtained by installing such equipment has doubled.
“We don’t just sell equipment to customers, but this saving. Such a system is worth it because in a period of seven years it amortizes its investment more than twice, as a result of the reduction of costs with energy purchased from the grid”, said Gheorghe Țucu, managing partner of Valeg Creative Solutions, at the conference “Cogeneration for energy efficiency and renewables”, organized by Energynomics.
To be economically efficient, a micro-CHP system must be designed to operate for as long as possible, ideally 8,760 hours/year but not less than 5,000 hours/year.
According to a study carried out by Valeg Creative Solutions, if in 2020 the economy obtained for 8,760 hours of operation was around 110,000 lei (22,138 euros), in 2022, this value will double.
The company Valeg Creative Solutions, established in 2013, specializes in the implementation of high-efficiency cogeneration solutions on gas, biogas or using other fuels.

According to the data of the European Union, at the level of 2025 in the community block there is a potential of 5GWe installed in micro-cogeneration systems, i.e. approximately 50,000 micro-cogeneration systems, of 100 kW electricity.
