As the development of renewable energy projects accelerates, EnergoBit has increased its portfolio and is now working on over 7,000 MW in installed capacity in various green projects (solar, wind, geothermal and cogeneration), said Mihaela Coroiu, Marketing Strategy Director, EnergoBit, during the ONLINE conference “Green solutions for commerce, industry and buildings”, organized by Energynomics.
“Many projects have the feasibility study completed and they are already in the process of obtaining technical connection approvals, so they have a good chance of being implemented next year. Some projects are designed to deliver energy directly to the national energy system, which means they will produce and sell energy. Others are designed to cover the own consumption of large units, industrial or even municipalities”, said Mihaela Coroiu.
EnergoBit already has in its portfolio completed projects with an installed capacity of over 2,000 MW. “Our experience also recommends us in all segments – wind, solar, hydro or biogas, as our portfolio includes Fântânele-Cogealac Park, the largest wind farm in Europe, but also the largest photovoltaic plant in Romania, at least for the time being, Ucea power plant. We were also involved in the first photovoltaic system that uses double-tracking, the one in Miroslava”, added Mihaela Coroiu.
The sustainability of an energy project depends on the objectives assumed from the very beginning to reduce the consumption of primary resources. “We must consider not only the reduction of consumption of primary resources but also the fact that it reduces waste generation, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, all in an effort aimed at climate neutrality. It is also important to ensure security and continuity of energy supply. All this must be linked to increasing comfort and safety for users, and, at the same time, to the objectives of economic development and energy equity”.
The new energy performance criteria must meet the requirements of users, but also be in line with the flexibility requirements of the national energy system, said Mihaela Coroiu.
EnergoBit also offers solutions for turnkey energy projects. “For us, this is a very big responsibility, because we aim to meet the sustainability criteria in all projects, from increased energy efficiency, security, safety and the use of modern technologies, including the production of clean energy,” she highlighted.

Referring to the surge of energy prices, Mihaela Coroiu opined that this evolution will impose in the market a new trend of efficiency of consumption and increased production capacities for self-consumption and delivery in the grid. “The cheapest energy is the one we saved. If we talk about reducing energy consumption, we are not talking about a reduction in production or activity. We want to reduce losses to a minimum, both in power generation and transfer facilities, as well as an optimization of consumption throughout the system. Thus, a program must be drawn up to increase energy efficiency throughout the final-consumer system. We, EnergoBit, build this program based on the analysis of the initial state. This stage is usually included in the energy audit. In fact, we build a program correlated with the technical-economic capacities of the beneficiary and designed, if necessary, in implementation stages, so that the first implementations bring maximum results in the shortest time and subsequently finance new measures that lead to a continuous increase in performance”, explained the EnergoBit representative.
The implementation, expansion and modernization of energy management and control systems are extremely important, and end-consumer projects are designed with a significant digitization component. “Let’s not forget that we have already defined in the EU legislation the smart readiness indicator, the indicator regarding the degree of preparedness for smart building solutions. This indicator, developed for buildings, I think has great applicability in other areas as well. It is likely to be implemented in national legislation either as part of the energy certificate or separately. In any case, I think it is something we will see next year.”
