The joint order that establishes the way of settling the amounts granted by the state to the electricity and gas suppliers for the compensation of the bills was published in the Official Gazette, announced on Wednesday, on Facebook, the Energy minister, Virgil Popescu.
“Approximately 90% of Romania’s population currently benefits from this scheme. Moreover, from February 1 to the end of March, all non-household consumers except the large energy consumers benefit from the compensation scheme,” Popescu said.
The amounts resulting from the application of the compensation scheme for final customers are communicated by the suppliers to the Ministry of Energy within 15 days from the end of the calendar month.
The meeting of the Interministerial Committee on Energy was held on Tuesday to discuss the set of measures that will help protect the population and the economy from the effects of rising energy and gas prices, in which context the solution to simplify the procedures for settling energy invoices to suppliers was presented, according to Agerpres.
According to a Government statement, at the same meeting, at the request of the participants, in order to identify the most suitable sustainable solutions to ensure the sustainability of measures to protect domestic consumers, but also the business environment from the waves of rising prices, will continue the process of collecting the proposals forwarded by the social dialogue partners and the responsible authorities, and next week the meetings to discuss the solutions will be resumed.
The quoted source states that, during the first part of the meeting, the participants presented the proposals submitted by the members and permanent guests of the Committee, on this occasion being updated the information on the measures proposed and applied by the Government.
“In this regard, the Ministry of Labor, together with the Ministries of Economy and Finance, in a joint effort presented the new mechanism for settling invoices for suppliers. In this way, suppliers will be able to raise their amounts settled much more easily and payments will be made immediately.”
