The Gaz Vest supplier from Bihor did not compensate the bill for consumers and was fined 50,000 lei (10,000 euro) from ANPC, the Minister of Energy, Virgil Popescu, wrote on Facebook on Wednesday.

“I would like to send a clear warning: no supplier company will deceive the Romanians! They should issue invoices for November 2021 – March 2022 in accordance with Law no. 259 of October 29, 2021 for the approval of the Government Emergency Ordinance no. 118/2021 regarding the establishment of a compensation scheme for the consumption of electricity and natural gas for the cold season 2021-2022! On the contrary, there will be harsh sanctions,” the minister posted, according to Agerpres.

He reported the situation of Gaz Vest subscribers in Bihor County, who received the invoices for November without applying the law that provides for the capping and compensation scheme.

“As a result, we took action! And after the control of the ANPC, the result is the following: Law 363/2007 was applied and it was found that they violated art.6 paragraph (1), letter d.- the price or the calculation method. Those from Gaz Vest SA received a contravention sanction of 50,000 lei – and according to art.15-1, together with the application of the main contravention sanction, the complementary sanction of recalculating the consumption read or estimated for household consumers starting with 01.11.2021 shall be applied, within 15 days,” added Popescu.
