The Minister of Environment, Waters and Forests, Costel Alexe, declared on Thursday that he unequivocally supports all the infrastructure projects that Romanian region of Moldova has and, regarding the environmental issues, together with the team from the ministry, he will do everything possible that these projects not to be blocked or stagnant.
“It is an issue that is painful for all of us in Moldova, because for years we have all considered that the infrastructure in Moldova deserves more and I hope that in the near future we will do this together. If you have seen that statistic from Commission, we believe that today in our region most deaths are caused by road accidents. If we overlap this map of accidents over our infrastructure, we will see that it is among the main causes. And as a deputy and also as a minister I unequivocally support all infrastructure projects that Moldova has today, whether we are talking about the A8, the A13 or the A7, because they are all vital for the development of our region. Therefore, I personally and unequivocally support and consider strategic the Union Highway, Ungheni-Iasi-Targu Mures, which seems vital to the development of Moldova, but I am also a signatory for the A13 Brasov-Bacau, as it is almost as important A7 from Siret, Suceava, to Bucharest,” said Alexe, according to Agerpres.
