The budget of the Rabla Plus Program will be supplemented with 60 million lei and will reach 200 million lei in 2020, and in this way Romanians will be able to buy approximately 4,000 electric cars, said on Thursday the Minister of Environment, Costel Alexe.

“We must continue on this path and stimulate at national level the purchase of electric cars if we all want and really breathe cleaner air in the big cities of Romania. And for that, dear Romanians, we have decided to supplement the AFM budget for the Program Rabla Plus, in order to support all Romanians who want to buy a means of transport, an electric or hybrid car, environmentally friendly,” said Alexe.

”We have ordered the start of the procedures for supplementing the budget of the Environment Fund Administration for the Rabla Plus program with 60 million lei. Thus, the budget for the program will reach 200 million lei for 2020. What we will do with this increase is that we will offer Romanians the opportunity to purchase an almost historic, record number of electric cars. In 2020 sales could reach 4,000 electric cars, obviously more than were purchased in all 4 years since the Rabla Plus program has been operational in Romania. In the last four years, 3,000 electric cars have been purchased and hybridized in our country through the Rabla Plus Program, only in 2020 the Romanian Government supports the purchase of 4,000 electric cars. In this way, the investments in everything that means green measures in our country continues,” said Costel Alexe, in a video post on Facebook, according to Agerpres.

He said that for the first time in the history of the Rabla Plus program, the entire budget for individuals who want to buy electric cars has been exhausted.
