Meeting the 2030 emission reduction targets implies a profound transformation in the Romanian society, of the behavior and the economic model and we will start this as soon as we return home, by convening the National Climate Change Commission, declared on Monday, at Madrid, Minister of Environment, Water and Forests, Costel Alexe, at the official opening of the UN Climate Change Conference – COP25.
The main message of COP25 is that all the states of the world, collectively, must take efforts to increase the ambition regarding concrete measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to adapt to the effects of climate change.
“It is very important to emphasize that at European level we are making every effort in this regard. We are here to finalize the package of rules for the implementation of the Paris Agreement. Once with this, we will enter a completely new era, that of implementation, that of really making things happen,” said the Minister of Environment, Water and Forests.
