The Ministry of Energy signed three new financing contracts, totaling 35 million lei, almost the entire amount coming from the Modernization Fund, Minister of Energy Sebastian Burduja said on Monday.
“Today we signed three financing contracts through the Modernization Fund, which will bring tangible changes. These projects are intended to develop capacities to produce energy from renewable sources for self-consumption. The beneficiaries of this funding are the Politehnica University of Bucharest, the city of Darmănești from Bacău county and the commune of Dumbrăvița from Timiș county,” said the minister.
UPB signed one of the largest contracts to date, with a total installed capacity of 7.04 MW.
The city of Dărmănești and the Commune of Dumbrăvița are planning similar projects, with a total installed power of 0.39 MW and 0.399 MW, respectively, which represents almost 70% of their own consumption (public lighting, utilities at the Town Hall, school, dispensary, etc. ).
“This financial support reflects our commitment to support the reduction of energy costs for public entities and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. The installation of a total capacity of 7,829 MW will have a significant impact on these communities and institutions. These projects will reduce costs for beneficiaries, improve the quality of life for local communities and increase energy efficiency in institutions.
“The final beneficiaries of these projects are always the citizens. They will directly feel the positive effects of these investments, from lower electricity bills to a cleaner and healthier environment,” Burduja concluded.
