The Minister of the Environment, Mircea Fechet, announced that the Rabla Clasic and Rabla Plus car subsidy programs are in public consultation and stated that after the guidelines are finalized and the budget of the Environment Fund Administration is approved, then they can start operating. He added that this will happen this spring, according to News.ro.
“The Rabla program, if you mean Rabla Classic and Rabla Plus, both programs are in public consultation. The guidelines have been published since last Friday, if I remember the day correctly and after the expiration of the 10-day deadline provided by law, of course we will centralize all the observations we have on the guidelines. We will take advantage of this time frame to approve the budget of the Environment Fund Administration by government decision, and as soon as we have the guidelines finalized and the budget approved, we can start the actual implementation of these programs. It will certainly happen, just like in other years, in the spring of this year”, said Mircea Fechet.
Fechet was asked if Romanians’ interest in electric cars has decreased, considering that the subsidy level has been reduced.
“I think we will have to see how many cars we will finance, because a smaller subsidy means that we will be able, with the same budget, to finance more cars… I am very optimistic. I think that 5,000 euro is not a small amount of money. For an electric car, which today costs 25,000 euro, maybe even lower, it can be bought for this price, I think that the 5,000 euro that the Romanian state makes available to you are welcome. I continue to rely on Romanians’ interest in environmentally friendly cars,” said the Minister of the Environment.
