The fuels sold in the MOL Romania network became cheaper by almost one leu (1 RON) on Friday morning at the gas stations in the Capital, all prices being below 9 lei per liter, according to the data from the Fuel Price Monitor. The company announced on Thursday that it is delimiting itself from any anti-competitive practices and from any information that could generate panic among the population. MOL has two operating models, its own stations and MOL Partner stations, in franchise regime, which sell MOL fuels (they have the status of direct competitors for their own stations) with their own commercial policy, in which MOL does not intervene, according to the legal norms in force.
On Thursday, the most expensive assortment, premium diesel, cost 9.59 lei in the MOL Giuleşti gas station, and on Friday morning it was priced at 8.84 lei per liter, according to Agerpres.
Standard gasoline costs 8.25 lei on Friday at the same MOL Giuleşti gas station, 8.08 lei at OMV Gara de Nord, 7.98 lei at Lukoil Orhideelor and 7.99 lei at Petrom Virtuţii. Premium gasoline costs 8.69 lei / liter at MOL (compared to 9.09 lei on Thursday), 8.69 lei at OMV, 8.13 lei – Lukoil and 8.45 lei – Petrom.
Standard diesel costs 8.37 lei at MOL (compared to 9.12 lei on Thursday), 8.29 lei – OMV, 7.98 lei – Lukoil and 7.99 lei – Petrom. Premium diesel is 8.84 lei at MOL (compared to 9.59 lei on Thursday), 8.78 lei – OMV, 8.34 – Lukoil and 8.35 – Petrom.
Government spokesman Dan Cărbunaru announced on Thursday that the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC) controlled more than 70 gas stations throughout the country, imposing fines amounting to 370,000 lei.
