September meant for the CEZ Group in Romania the development of social responsibility projects, through which over 100 digital equipments were offered to students from Dolj, Gorj, Vâlcea, Olt, Mehedinți and Teleorman counties for continuing school activities.
The initiatives dedicated to access to digital education were proposed by CEZ Group employees in Romania, in response to the urge to come to the aid of the communities affected by the crisis caused by COVID-19, within the internal project Generators of Good. The involvement of the company’s volunteers consists both in identifying solutions and projects with a positive impact in the local community, and in their implementation. In 2020, 8 projects proposed by CEZ employees obtained funding from the company, 6 of them having as main direction of action the digital education.
Each project comes to life thanks to the dedication of CEZ volunteers, always bringing valuable results and becoming a source of inspiration for the whole community.
“In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, education suffered a lot, by suspending the activity of schools. The Generators of Good project represented the chance not to be indifferent, to put up for the continuation of learning in optimal and quality conditions,” said one of the company’s employees, the initiator of the winning project in Vâlcea County.
“During this period, we continued to take #energiepentrubine further and get involved to bring the reality of digital education closer to the communities we belong to. The projects proposed and implemented by CEZ volunteers are an example of solidarity for all of us and strengthen our mission to provide the necessary tools for the education and development of future generations,” said Ondrej Safar, Country Manager CEZ Romania.
