New investments in the production of energy from renewable resources could be done next year, in the context in which there are dozens of projects in different authorization phases, said on Tuesday the vice-president of the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE), Zoltan Nagy -Bege.

“I expect to have new investments in the production of electricity from renewable resources. There are clear signals that there is interest in this field. There are already dozens of projects in different authorization phases that have all the chances to start the construction phase already in 2022. In the case of some, they may even be put into operation,” Nagy-Bege said, according to Agerpres.

He also stressed that he expects a boom in small investments at the level of prosumers, making it more advantageous for a consumer to think of individual solutions for electricity production, given the current price developments.

“I went to the Chamber of Deputies, to the Commission of Industries, where some measures were ordered to help these prosumers and, among other things, up to a capacity of 100 KW, the quantitative compensation of the energy produced with the consumed one was approved. This trend is also stimulated by the evolution of market prices – if last year the average price in the wholesale market was of 200 lei per MWh, at this time the prices are well over 500 lei. Obviously, it is much more advantageous for a consumer, whether domestic or industrial, to think of individual solutions for electricity production, given that we have this evolution of prices,” added the vice-president of ANRE.

On the other hand, he expressed the hope that, with the arrival of spring, the energy markets will “calm down”, but he specified that he no longer expects to see the prices at the level of 2020, not even of 2019 – a fact that ”should keep us on track and stimulate us to look for viable solutions to this crisis. ”

At the same time, Nagy-Bege pointed out that it is clear that the gas market has changed a lot this year, and perhaps it is time for a decision to be made on the Black Sea gas.
