National Bank of Romania (BNR) kept the inflation forecast at 4.2% by the end of this year and estimates an inflation of 3.4 for the end of next year, announced on Thursday the BNR governor, Mugur Isarescu, who presented the Quarterly Report on inflation.
The NBR estimated in May 2019 an inflation of 3.3% for December 2020, according to Agerpres. According to the NBR, the annual inflation rate will remain outside the central target range during the second half of 2019, under the impact of unfavorable shocks in the first part of this year.
Subsequently, it will be placed on a relatively stable trajectory, in the upper half of the target range, subject to the depletion of the effects of the supply shocks of 2019, concomitantly with the perspective of inflationary pressures at the level of basic inflation.
