Net investments made in the national economy totaled 118.5 billion lei between January and October of this year, up 14.4% compared to the same period last year, according to data from the National Institute of Statistics, published on Monday.
The increase in investments was recorded in all structural elements: other expenses by 28.6%, new construction works by 14% and machinery (including means of transport) by 11.5%, according to Agerpres.
Most investments were made in new construction works, with a total of 74.2 billion lei in the first ten months. An amount of 34.7 billion lei was directed to machinery and means of transport, and 9.6 billion to other expenses.
In the third quarter of 2023, the net investments made in the national economy amounted to 48.8 billion lei, up by 16.6%, compared to the third quarter of 2022. The increase was highlighted in all structural elements: other expenses by 35.9 %, new construction works with 19.2% and machinery (including means of transport) with 7.4%.
Net investments represent the expenses intended for the creation of new fixed assets, the development, modernization and reconstruction of existing ones, as well as the value of services related to the transfer of ownership of existing fixed assets and of land taken over with payment from other units or from the population (notary fees, commissions, transport, handling expenses, etc.), states the INS.
