Representatives of the energy producer CE Oltenia and a team of specialists from the Ministry of Energy, headed by Andrei-Petrisor Maioreanu, state secretary in the Ministry of Energy, met with China Huadian Engineering Co. last week. The Chinese delegation included also the chairman of China Huadian Engineering Co. Ltd., Ying Jufeng, who wanted to ensure the Romanian side, personally, of „the interest given to this project by the company he is leading”, says a release of CE Oltenia.

„Following the talks, concrete proposals were made to resolve the remaining clauses in the Shareholders’ Agreement of the Implementing Company, and a new meeting to resolve the non-agreed terms in the Coal Supply Contract and the Superficies Contract . After the completion, initialization and approval of these documents by the governing bodies of the two partner companies, the Implementing Company will be able to register with the Trade Registry in Târgu Jiu”, says CE Oltenia, according to focus-energetic.ro.

Given the fact that over the past 25 years no such investments have been made in the Romanian thermal power sector, the achievement of the 600 MW energy group, an investment of almost one billion euros, will allow access to modern technologies with a sustainable environmental management, as well as strengthening the national energy market and diversified energy mix by capitalizing on primary energy resources.

„The project will also help stimulate domestic investment by providing parts of equipment and materials in Romania and create about 4,000 jobs during its implementation,” the state-owned company said.
