The new prime minister from Chisinau, Dorin Recean, yesterday invited economic agents from Romania to invest in the Republic of Moldova, including in energy projects. Present in Bucharest, the official added that he discussed with Prime Minister Nicolae Ciucă about the development of the Moldovan-Romanian strategic partnership in the energy field. Recean also said that discussions were held about facilitating the conclusion of long-term contracts for the purchase of electricity and natural gas.

The Head of the Government said, after the meeting held in Bucharest with the Prime Minister of Romania, Nicolae Ciucă, that Chisinau opened more opportunities for the business environment, according to the central press of the Republic of Moldova.

“Romania is the most important commercial partner of the Republic of Moldova. In this regard, I have a message for businessmen on both banks of the Prut that I want to encourage to expand their businesses and use the existing economic potential. Soon, we will even have integrated financial markets and, respectively, the financial market from Bucharest will be accessible in Chisinau. Our businessmen speak the same language, our businesses speak the same language, and through the transposition of European legislation, the banks of the Prut river become even closer for the business environment,” said Dorin Recean.

“We want to attract the investments of Romanian companies in the energy sector of the Republic of Moldova, and I believe that this field has great potential in our collaboration. We started discussions about facilitating the conclusion of long-term contracts for the purchase of electricity and natural gas with companies in the energy sector on the right bank of the Prut, in order to diversify sources and increase the security of energy supply on the left of the Prut,” added Recean.
