Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca announced that, from April 1, a new support scheme will enter into force for household consumers who consume a maximum of 300 kWh per month, according to e-nergia.ro. Thus, the new scheme will include reduced VAT to 5%, green certificate compensation and cogeneration bonus.
The prime minister did not specify which of the current capping elements will remain in force.
“From April 1, household consumers with a monthly consumption of up to 300 kWh will benefit from a new support scheme, which will include a 5% reduced VAT, compensation for the green certificate and the cogeneration bonus. We will also develop a support scheme for natural gas,” said Ciucă.
“In order to guarantee the effectiveness of the protection measures, of the domestic consumer citizens, the bills that did not comply with the regulated ceilings will be recalculated. Until the calculations are redone by the suppliers, these categories of invoices will not carry penalties,” he added.
“We are also considering the introduction of a new SME support scheme at the government level from April.… In the field of agriculture and the food industry, we will launch support measures on 1 February and keep them active until of July 1.”
