RAAL, manufacturer of cooling systems for the automotive industry from Bistrita, has launched a new 7.4 MW solar park, built by the Swiss nextE Group. The park was co-financed with the help of a 3.15 million euro loan offered by ProCredit Bank Romania. The 7.4 MWp photovoltaic park is located in Bistrița-Năsăud county, according to Transilvania Business.
Thus, the RAAL company from Bistri signed a 25-year agreement to take over 80% of the energy produced by the new photovoltaic park. The Nexte Renewable SRL (nextE) group is the subsidiary of the Swiss private technology and services company Connect44 Group and operates as an Independent Power Producer (IPP).
The project of this photovoltaic park is based on a long-term bilateral PPA (Power Purchase Agreement) contract.
The construction of the photovoltaic plant was carried out on the land owned by RAAL Bistrițene Company, at the Prundu Bârgăului work site. This is also the main consumer of electricity within the project. The plant will operate in a lease and operate system.
Energy production is estimated at 7,200 MWh/year, and taking into account the plant’s consumption profile, approximately 80% of the energy produced will be provided for domestic consumption, while the surplus energy will be injected into the national grid. The production will offset approximately 1,043 tons of CO2 emissions annually.
