The energy field represents a strategic opportunity for Romania and needs its own ministry, says former Energy Minister Răzvan Nicolescu. The idea of uniting the ministry of energy with the one of the economy, in the context of the formation of the new Government, is wrong, he says.
“That’s the way it is in most EU states, it’s same in the US, Russia, China. In addition to this there are also technical aspects that would make this merger a mistake. We risk the resumption of the accreditation process for the transport operators, the delay of the use of some European funds, because the energy ministry has been accredited as the authority granting authorization for the European projects of common interest,” stated Nicolescu, quoted by financialintelligence.ro.
“The efficiency and quality of the act of government will increase in energy if the people at the helm of the sector that will be appointed will have integrity and will be competent people, not through a merger that will increase the chaos of the present,” said the former minister.
