Tariffs for electricity distribution operators will increase next year by only 3.39%, below the forecast inflation rate, and for the transport operator by 1.51%, the president of the National Energy Regulatory Authority, George Niculescu, said on Thursday, in a press conference.
“In yesterday’s meeting, we approved the regulated tariffs for the distribution of electricity related to the year 2024. All the requests of the distribution operators were analyzed very meticulously. We took into account, according to the methodology we have in force, and took into account their proposals , within the limits of the methodology. Rates, on average, I can tell you that we will have an increase in distribution rates of only 3.39%. The average is made up of all distribution areas and across all voltage levels. On average, we will have an increase of 3.39%. If we compare it with the inflation rate estimated by the Forecasting Commission for 2024, of 4.6%, we are below this inflation rate,” said Niculescu, according to Agerpres.
According to the examples given by him, in a certain distribution area the increase in distribution tariffs is on average 5.75%, and in another area there is a decrease of 1.41%, on low voltage.
“As I told you, using an average across all voltage levels and distribution areas, the increase is only 3.39% for distribution operators and only 1.51% for the transmission operator,” also said the ANRE president.
