There will be approximately 200,000 prosumers at the end of this year if the current rate of growth is maintained, of 4,000-5,000 prosumers per month, which shows that Romanians and companies in general are considering this measure of energy efficiency, said the president of the National Energy Regulatory Authority (ANRE), George Niculescu.
“On December 31, 2023, there were 110,355 prosumers connected to the grid, a total of 1,442 megawatts. Of these, 95,205 were individuals and 15,150 legal persons. We see that legal persons also have the appetite to become prosumers. After a month, on January 31 2024, we have 114,109 prosumers, about 4,000 more – and 1,502 megawatts, representing an increase of 50 megawatts, 98,203 individuals and 15,906 legal entities. If this growth rate of 4,000-5,000 prosumers per month is maintained, up to at the end of the year we will reach the figure of 200,000 prosumers, a considerable figure,” said George Niculescu, according to Agerpres.
He emphasized that this evolution shows the fact that Romanians and companies in general have in mind the measure of energy efficiency.
“Prosumers must see this measure of installing photovoltaic panels on the roofs of houses, buildings, as a measure to reduce their electricity expenses,” added George Niculescu.
