Bucharest will have 100 trolleybuses and 100 new electric buses, and thus, public transport will become more attractive both for the city’s residents and for tourists, said the Capital’s mayor, Nicușor Dan, on the official Facebook page.
“The evaluation commission has completed the analysis of the offer submitted by Solaris for the purchase of 100 trolleybuses bought with non-refundable funds from the Environmental Fund Agency. The final report will be sent to ANAP for validation, and then it will be assigned to the winner of the auction,” the post states.
The delivery term for the 100 trolleybuses is of 22 months from the signing of the contract.
The 100 new trolleybuses, from the 12m range, will have a completely lowered floor, space for wheelchairs for disabled people, will be equipped with a vehicle management computer with GPS functions, an audio-video information system, air conditioning and have a minimum autonomy of 20 km.
The operation guarantee will be of 300,000 km from the date of receipt or 5 years for the trolleybus as a whole and for all its components, including planned maintenance, consumables and labor performed during this period.
Also, the tender evaluation stage for the purchase of 100 electric buses was completed. As a result of the verification of the way of fulfilling the requirements of the specification and subsequent application of the award criteria, the contract was awarded to Karsan Otomotiv.
The contract can be signed after the expiration of the 10-day period for submitting appeals, and the delivery term is of 10 months from the signing of the contract.
The buses will have a range of 522.49 kilometers between two successive charges, fully electric traction, batteries with accumulators, fully lowered floor over the entire length of the vehicle, length of 12 meters, three double doors and air conditioning.
The total value of the contract is of 293 million lei without VAT, and the financing comes from non-refundable European funds, through the Regional Operational Program (POR).
