The Capital City Hall transferred to the Municipal Public Lighting Company the last two million lei to cover the total debt of 10 million lei left by the former mayor Gabriela Firea, announced the general mayor Nicuşor Dan.
“We finally managed to transfer to the Municipal Public Lighting Company the last two million lei to cover the total debt of 10 million lei, which we have left from the festive lighting employed by Gabriela Firea for December/ January 2020-2021. We close this way after a year and a half, another debt left to the people of Bucharest by the former mayor general,” wrote Nicuşor Dan, on Friday, on Facebook, according to Agerpres.
He pointed out that the Municipality still pays for Otokar buses, heating arrears or the debt of the Bucharest Transport Company to ANAF.
“We all pay, especially, for the lack of vision and indolence of Gabriela Firea, who – instead of modernizing district heating, transport infrastructure and healthy urban development – gave us festivals, light bulbs and a great deal of contempt for the future of this city,” added Nicusor Dan.
