Nova Power & Gas (NPG) will complete work in May on its first gas-fired power plant, which began in December.
The investment is of 7 million euro, and the installed power, of 13.4 MW, the unit being located in the municipality of Câmpia Turzii. “Its main advantage is the reduction of pollution by up to 50% compared to a power plant of the same power on coal,” say company representatives.
The works were started in December by NPG and Electrogrup. “It is our first investment in state-of-the-art natural gas-fired power plants with increased efficiency and high operational flexibility. We also want to build a 100 MW natural gas-fired power plant here. We will significantly expand our production in photovoltaic energy,” explains Mircea Bica, NPG director, quoted by transilvaniabusiness.ro.
The private electricity generation project includes a power unit consisting of two power plants equipped with gas-fired generator sets with an individual capacity of 6.72 MW, and the extension of the 20kV distribution network. The duration of the works was set at five months.
The plant is located in the Reif Industrial Park, near the photovoltaic park with a capacity of 6MW, owned by NPG, which supplies consumers in the area. NPG and Electrogrup are part of E-Infra, a group of companies active in the field of energy and telecommunications infrastructure, together with Netcity Telecom and Direct One, with 500 employees and annual sales of 100 million euro.
