Nuclearelectrica allots 6 mln. lei for maintenance services at Cernavoda NPP

Nuclearelectrica allocates 5.97 million lei, excluding VAT, for repair and maintenance services for measuring devices at Cernavoda NPP, the contract to be concluded for a period of 48 months, according to a tender notice posted in the Electronic Public Procurement System (SEAP).

“The procurement is for preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as the necessary spare parts for Canberra measuring equipment from the Radiation Protection Department, SM&PSI and the Chemical Laboratory, for a period of 48 months (actual provision). The number of days until which clarifications can be requested before the deadline for submitting offers is 20 days,” the source quoted by Agerpres states.

The contract will be awarded through open tender, based on the best quality-price ratio, and the deadline for receipt of offers or requests to participate is April 23, 2025, 3:00 p.m.

“Spare parts, including equivalent ones, necessary for corrective maintenance activities will be provided by the provider with the prior agreement of CNE Cernavodă. The budget allocated to the replacement of spare parts within the framework of corrective maintenance activities is 460,000 euros, excluding VAT. The provider will carry out preventive maintenance activities, as a rule, quarterly, four times a year. As part of preventive maintenance, the provider will provide all the materials, tools and consumables necessary to perform all operations provided for in the preventive maintenance procedures, within the current session. Corrective maintenance activities will be carried out only at the request of the purchaser, within the limit of 800 hours in the 48 months of the contract”, the document also states.

Nuclearelectrica’s main activity is the production of electricity and heat through nuclear processes. The main place of activity is within the CNE Cernavoda Branch, where the company owns and operates two functional nuclear reactors (Unit 1 and Unit 2).

The two operational nuclear reactors are based on CANDU technology (Canada Deuterium Uranium, PHWR type). The manufacture of CANDU nuclear fuel bundles is carried out within the FCN Pitești Branch.

On December 31, 2024, SN Nuclearelectrica owned 100% of the subsidiaries Energonuclear S.A., Fabrica de Prelucrare a Concentratelor de Uraniu – Feldioara SRL and Nuclearelectrica Serv SRL. The company also had in its portfolio, at the end of last year, 50% of the company RoPower Nuclear.

The company’s shareholders are: the Romanian state, through the Ministry of Energy – which holds 82.4981% of the share capital, and other shareholders, individuals and legal entities – who together hold 17.5019%.
