Nuclearelectrica, in collaboration with the Ovidius University of Constanța, announces the official opening of applications for the dual education program, intended for students interested in a career in the nuclear industry. The program offers academic and practical training opportunities for young people who want to become professionals in the fields of technological physics and mechanical engineering.
Seat distribution and program duration
Aligned with future strategic projects and human resources strategy, Nuclearelectrica is directly interested and involved in two specializations of undergraduate education in the dual system, supporting:
– 20 places available for the undergraduate program in Technological Physics, offered by the Faculty of Applied Sciences and Engineering;
– 15 places for the undergraduate program in Mechanical Engineering, offered by the Faculty of Mechanical, Industrial and Maritime Engineering.
Registrations for the Technological Physics program are open from September 4-10, 2024, and for Mechanical Engineering from September 4-11, 2024.
Candidates admitted to the program will benefit from monthly scholarships worth 1,400 lei, a cumulative amount, from Nuclearelectrica, the university and allocated through the National Recovery and Resilience Program (PNRR).
Students will have the opportunity to combine theoretical studies with practical activities carried out at the workplace, benefiting from workshop sessions and on-site visits to CNE Cernavodă. In addition, they will have direct access to mentoring from Nuclearelectrica specialists who, as tutors, will answer questions and share their extensive experience in the field of nuclear energy.
“Education is critical to ensuring a sustainable and safe future for nuclear energy. Through the partnership with Ovidius University, we are committed to training a new generation of specialists who will directly contribute to Romania’s energy security and the transition to a green economy. Investments in the training of young people are, in fact, investments in the future of the nuclear industry,” emphasized Cosmin Ghiță, CEO of Nuclearelectrica.
Graduates of this program will have the opportunity to work on major investment projects of Nuclearelectrica, including the expansion of Romania’s nuclear capacities by adding two new reactors at CNE Cernavodă, as well as the development of an SMR plant at Doicești.
