Societatea Națională Nuclearelectrica recorded a net profit of over 1.939 billion lei on September 30, 2022, up 202.7% compared to the first nine months of 2021, according to the financial results submitted to the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) on Friday.

The operating result (EBIT) registered an increase of 191.2%, to 2.198 billion lei, and EBITDA an increase of 126% (2.649 billion lei) compared to the same period of the previous year.

The operating profit (EBITDA) increased by 126% compared to the same period of the previous year, mainly as a result of the increase in operating income by 124.6%, influenced by the increase by 128.4% in the income from the sale of electricity.

The increase in income was partially reduced by the increase in operating expenses, as a result of the appearance of the additional income tax expense starting from January 2022, the amount of this expense for the period January – September 2022 being 872.931 million lei (0 lei for January – September 2021), as well as the increase in the cost of electricity purchased during this period, caused by the increase in purchase prices, according to Agerpres.

Operating income increased by 124.6%, this increase being determined by the increase in income from the sale of electricity, as a result of the 138.2% increase in the weighted average selling price of electricity (including Tg) achieved during the period January 1 – September 30, 2022 compared to the weighted average price from the same period of 2021.
