Nuclearelectrica announced the resynchronization of Unit 2 of Cernavoda NPP to the National Energy System on August 31, 2020, at 07:00, the company reported.

Unit 2 was automatically disconnected from the National Energy System in the morning of August 29, 2020 due to a malfunction in the classic part of the unit, without impact on the nuclear side, company officials say. The automatic disconnection occurred safely, all systems of the unit operating according to the project.

The remediation work and the automatic disconnection of Unit 2 from the SEN did not have an impact on nuclear safety, personnel, population and the environment, which were carried out in accordance with the applicable procedures of the plant.
