The Ordinary General Meeting of Shareholders of OMV Petrom (SNP) approved the proposal of the Management Board to distribute dividends in gross value of 0.031 lei/ share for the financial year 2019, increasing by 15% compared to 2018, according to a press release. The total gross value of dividends to be distributed amounts to approximately 1.76 billion lei, representing 48% of the net profit of the group attributable to the shareholders of OMV Petrom S.A. for the year 2019.
Approximately 362 million lei will go to the Romanian state, which holds, through the Ministry of Economy, Energy and Business Environment, 20.639% of the shares of OMV Petrom S.A. From 2005 until 2019, OMV Petrom distributed to the Romanian state dividends amounting to approximately 3 billion lei, according to financialintelligence.ro.
“We have maintained our proposal to distribute dividends, despite the pressure our industry is under, in the context of the coronavirus pandemic and the sharp drop in crude oil prices. The approved dividend reflects the 2019 performance of OMV Petrom. During this difficult period, we maintain our commitments to our shareholders – including the Romanian state,” said Christina Verchere, CEO of OMV Petrom.
