OMV Petrom is trying to sell 1 million MWh of gas through OPCOM

OMV Petrom Gas, a subsidiary of OMV Petrom, proposes on OPCOM energy exchange, a sale of 1 million MWh of gas from domestic production at an opening price of 80 lei/MWh, a quantity structured in four deals, three of 300,000 MWh each and one of 100,000 MWh.

The first auction will take place on March 17th for a package of 100,000 MWh, divided into 20 contracts, each contract for an amount of 5,000 MWh. The gas will be delivered in the month of April 2016.

The second auction, this time for a package of 300,000 MWh divided into 20 equal contracts of 15,000 MWh each, will be held on March 21, with the delivery period between April 1 and June 30, 2016.

The next tender for the sale of a package of 300,000 MWh, also divided into 20 contracts that divide the amount equally, will be held on March 22. The gas will be delivered between July 1 and September 30, 2016.

The last auction, the fourth, is scheduled for March 23 and is aimed at delivering 300,000 MWh between October 1 to December 31, 2016. Since 2014, the gas producers are obliged to sell part of their production on the energy exchange.

According to ANRE, in December 2015 the price of gas from the domestic production, on the competitive market was 75 lei/MWh. At the same time, the price of gas delivered by the producers to the consumers from the regulated market reached 59.88 lei/MWh.
