OMV Petrom joins the efforts of civil society and the Romanian authorities in supporting refugees from Ukraine. Thus, the company supports the activity of FDSC and SMURD with approximately 500,000 lei.
Through FDSC, OMV Petrom supports activities carried out by about 15 non-governmental organizations directly involved in providing humanitarian aid on Romania’s borders with Ukraine.
The financing of OMV Petrom will cover the transportation costs of refugees arriving in Romania and the provision of emergency medical assistance. The collaboration with the Foundation for the Development of Civil Society (FDSC) and with the Foundation for SMURD aims at the transport of refugees arriving in Romania, emergency medical assistance and clothing.
Through the SMURD Foundation, OMV Petrom supports the emergency purchase of cold weather items for refugees.
Since the beginning of the crisis, employees at distribution stations on the border with Ukraine have been involved in helping refugees by providing basic necessities: food, water, hot tea, blankets and toiletries.
The company will continue to be involved in supporting NGOs that help refugees, depending on the needs identified.
