OMV Petrom supports with 1.5 million euros the project “Minutes of flight, for hours of life”, carried out by the Blondie Association. The project provides air transport for patients, especially children, whose conditions cannot be treated in Romania. Sponsorship will support about 100 flights for over 300 patients.

“In these difficult times, when health systems are under the pressure of multiple challenges, such initiatives are essential for saving lives. At OMV Petrom, we believe that supporting these efforts is an essential part of our role in Romania,” said Christina Verchere, CEO, OMV Petrom.

The Blondie association’s project, “Minutes of flight, for hours of life”, will provide transportation for about 300 vulnerable patients, who depend on specific medical treatment from which they cannot benefit in Romania. Together with maternity hospitals in Romania, the association will identify, in a timely manner, children patients with serious illnesses, as well as maternity hospitals that can treat them in an emergency regime. In addition, at least 20 medics will receive training in the in-flight care of children in critical condition.

The Blondie Association was established in 2019 so that all children, regardless of their material or social situation, can benefit from the appropriate medical treatment for maximum development from a physical, intellectual and emotional point of view.

The association supports seriously ill and lonely children – abandoned, abandoned in hospitals, children with complicated families, children with underage mothers.
