Azeri oil company SOCAR is about to launch a takeover bid for OMV subsidiary in Turkey, Petrol Ofisi, indicates declarations submitted by the Director of SOCAR in Turkey, writes Reuters. Petrol Ofisi operates 1,785 gas stations.
“SOCAR is interested in this transaction. We expect the company to disclose information about those assets”, said the director of SOCAR Turkey Enerrji, Zaur Gakhramanov.
He said that OMV Petrol Ofisi supposed to publish in June information on the assets that were to be put up for sale but postponed it to September. Sources quoted by Reuters journalists claim that Petrol Ofisi is on the shopping list of other several companies, mostly from China and Japan.
