Vestmoldtransgaz issued on Thursday the last three orders for the start of the works related to the Ungheni-Chisinau gas pipeline, related to the 1-3 lots, which envisage the construction of some 94 km long gas pipeline.

National Gas Transmission Company (SNTGN) Transgaz SA, a company in the portfolio of the Ministry of Economy, signed last week contracts for the acquisition of works related to the build of the Ungheni-Chisinau gas pipeline.

SNTGN Transgaz SA carries out this investment through Vestmoldtransgaz, the natural gas operator in the Republic of Moldova which was privatized in 2018 to Eurotransgaz, the Moldovan subsidiary of SNTGN Transgaz SA.

The works at the Ungheni – Chisinau project, declared by the national interest in the Republic of Moldova, involves the construction of a natural gas pipeline with a length of 120 km, three natural gas delivery stations (two in Chisinau and one in Ungheni) and the equipping of the dispatch center from Ghidighici. The natural gas transport network on the Ungheni – Chisinau route is the second phase of the Iasi – Ungheni – Chisinau interconnection project.
