While the market prices for the day ahead segment (DAM) jumped by 2,500 lei/MWh (over 500 euros) on Tuesday, July 12, OPCOM announced an increase in the average energy price for June 2022 by 200%, marking a tripling compared to June 2021, at 1,138 lei (or 230 euros) for an hourly MW.
Compared to May 2022, in June the average DAM price increased by 13.8%, amid 17% higher transactions. Compared to June 2021, in June 2022 transactions’ volume was 205% higher.
The market share of the DAM segment is of 52% of the forecasted consumption.
On the segment of bilateral contracts by extended tender (PCCB-LE-Flex), which holds a share of 38.6% of the market, the average price was of 466 lei, for contracts with delivery in June, according to the OPCOM Report for June, consulted by Energynomics.
At the same time, the annual inflation rate rose to 15.1% in June.
