The average price of electricity on the Day Ahead Market (PZU, spot market) of the OPCOM stock exchange was of 238.8 lei per MWh last year, 10.5% higher than in the previous year, according to the 2019 report, posted on the website of the stock exchange operator.

In 2018, the average price in the PZU was of 216.1 lei per MWh.

The traded volume was of 23.1 TWh, slightly down, by 0.7%, compared to the previous year. This volume represented 41% of the market, similar to the share of 2018, according to Agerpres.

The value of the energy traded last year on the spot market was of 5.8 billion lei or 1.2 billion euro, up 10%.

The number of participants registered in this market until December 31, 2019 was of 381, out of which 336 were active.
