The electricity used for irrigations will be bought directly from Hidroelectrica and not from the “smart boys”, at very high prices, said on Thursday, the Minister of Agriculture, Adrian Oros, in a press conference.
“We had a discussion with Hidroelectrica, so that the power used by the National Agency for Land Improvement (ANIF) to carry water that is free to those pressure stations to be bought directly from Hidroelectrica, not from smart guys at very high prices,” said Oros, according to Agerpres.
He announced that currently only 10% of the arable land is irrigable, and so far crops have been irrigated on only 102,000 ha out of a total of 844,000 hectares contracted.
