OMV Petrom had stored at the end of the second quarter of this 3.4 billion TWh of gas, three times the quantity deposited at the end of the similar period last year.
On July 21, Romania had deposited an amount of 18.23 TWh (55% of the total storage capacity) with over 3.5 TWh (or a quarter) over the level stored last year, of 14.7 TWh ( 43.8% of the total storage capacity), according to Profit.ro.
In addition, the additional volume stored in this spring and summer, since the entry into force of GEO 114, was even higher due to the fact that at the end of March, Romania reached a minimum level of stored gas, lowering it for the first time in history below the percentage of 11% of the total storage capacity. Between April 1 and July 21, almost 15 TWh were deposited in deposits, increasing by 50% over the amount of 10 TWh deposited in the same period of the previous year.
