PPD Global, one of the largest local distributors of premium drinks, has invested 500,000 euro in equipping its logistics center in Bucharest with a photovoltaic panel system with a total installed power of 405 kWp. The total investments made by PPD Global in the logistics center thus amount to 6.2 million euros in the last five years.
Through this strategic investment, the company contributes to protecting the environment by reducing CO2 emissions by 150 tons annually. Thus, PPD Global strengthens its leadership position in the field and its commitment to the environment and long-term sustainable development. The project allows supplying the unit with energy from renewable sources and redirecting the surplus to the national grid, in prosumer mode. The design and execution of the installation works of the photovoltaic panels was carried out by the Coral Construct company.
“We are determined to reduce the impact our activities have on the environment by investing in innovative energy-saving solutions and renewable resources. This is a project financed exclusively from own funds and represents an important step in supporting global efforts to protect the environment. In the future, we will also equip our headquarters in Bucharest with photovoltaic panels”, said Alexandru Frangopol, General Manager for Romania, PPD Global.
The logistics center operated by PPD Global, located in the west of the Capital, near the A1 Bucharest – Pitesti highway, is one of the most modern logistics centers in the country, with an area of over 7,400 square meters. From 2019 to date, PPD Global has invested over 6.2 million euros in this facility, in line with its strategy to achieve operational excellence by integrating the most innovative technologies, setting new standards in the industry.
