Premier Energy Group has announced the acquisition of the “Mihai Viteazu” wind farm, with a total installed capacity of 80 MW, located in Constanța, from Iberdrola, which announces its withdrawal from Romania. The transaction with Iberdrola, worth 88 million euros, involves the takeover of all local assets by Premier Energy, according to an announcement by the Spanish company.
“This strategic acquisition reinforces Premier Energy’s commitment to leadership in sustainable energy production and virtually doubles its footprint in operating wind power assets. The wind farm has an estimated net production of 165 GWh per year,” according to Premier Energy’s statement.
The value of the transaction, of 88 million euro, includes approximately 520,000 green certificates.
The Premier Energy Group is one of the largest players in the renewable energy segment, with an installed capacity of over 900 MW in ownership, management and development in Romania. Prior to the acquisition, the wind farm was managed by Alive Capital. This transition ensures seamless operational continuity and underscores Premier Energy’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards of efficiency and performance.
